Where It All Began

The story of a privileged childhood in paradise

Born and raised in the breathtaking islands of American Samoa, my early years were painted with the vibrant colors of Polynesian culture, surrounded by the love of an extended family and the security of a privileged upbringing. The crystal-clear waters, swaying palm trees, and tight-knit community created what seemed like an idyllic foundation for life.

But even in paradise, I dreamed of something more. Like many young people from small islands, I was drawn to the promise of America—the land of opportunity where dreams could become reality and where I could build a better future for the family I hoped to have someday.

Little did I know that this journey would take me through experiences that would test every fiber of my being, challenge every belief I held about myself, and ultimately teach me the true meaning of strength, resilience, and hope.

The American Dream

Leaving the safety and familiarity of American Samoa, I embarked on what I believed would be a straightforward journey to success in America. I was young, optimistic, and filled with determination to create a better life.

As a single mother of 9 beautiful children, I carried not just my own dreams, but the hopes and futures of my entire family. Each child represented a reason to push forward, to work harder, and to never give up—even when the path became impossibly difficult.

But life had other plans. Instead of the prosperity I had envisioned, I found myself facing trials and tribulations that would push me to the very edge of human endurance.

When Everything Fell Apart

"I have known the exquisite joy of holding my children, and the agonizing emptiness of losing them, not once, but multiple times through the cruel hand of fate and circumstance."

The depths of depression and addiction became my reality—a descent born from unbearable pain, leading to the loss of my children. This wound cut deeper than any physical injury could ever reach. It was a pain that threatened to consume everything I was and everything I hoped to become.

In those darkest moments, when I had lost not just my children but my sense of self, my hope, and my will to continue, I discovered that rock bottom can become the solid foundation upon which to rebuild an entire life.
